Logging a Patient
Patient Logging is an optional module that replaces the sign-in sheet used in most practice reception areas. It logs the patient into the system and records that the patient has arrived for the appointment. This is important for two reasons—to notify the staff away from the reception desk that the patient has arrived, and later, to ensure that charges are entered for the appointment.
Calendar and Recalls
The Calendar/Recall feature is used to remind scheduling operators of follow-up visits, annual checkups, or other call back appointments for a patient. Once a recall is requested, a recall notice can be generated to remind the scheduling operator to call the patient for an appointment. To use the Calendar/Recall option, do one of the following.
Future Encounter Forms
One of the crucial areas of any practice management system is insurance processing. PracticePoint Manager has the ability to keep multiple coverages per patient (including managed care plans), file claims sequentially, then if permitted, bill the responsible party for any disallowed or remaining charges on the account. The following pages describe how to set up coverage plans for your patients.
Tickler/Collections
The Tickler / Collections feature is designed to: • Record actions that need follow-up • Generate reports for an individual or range of follow-up actions • Provide easy access to daily scheduled activities • Build collection information, which is used to generate custom collection letters (A/R Collections). A practice may track many day to day activities using the Tickler system. Integration with the A/R Collections report gives you the ability to automatically generate tickler records that are related to collections and will require follow-up. In addition you may also merge information from the A/R Collection module with a word processor, such as Microsoft Word, to make creating and printing custom collection letters and mailing labels.
Worklist
The Tickler Notes module is designed to assist the practice with managing follow-up actions required on a day-to-day basis. The Tickler Worklist allows you to see all open issues that need follow up within a given date range. The Follow-up date displayed in the window is today’s current computer date, but may be changed to view any days ‘to-do’ listing. The Worklist displays records in the tickler system that were created with your user-id.
