Stage 1 Meaningful Use
In Stage 1, Eligible Providers must meet 13 cores set measures and choose five of ten menu set measures with an EHR which enable the improvement of quality healthcare. These core measures include basic data entry, essential to creating any medical record.
Stage 2 Meaningful Use
In Stage 2, EPs must meet 17 core set measures and choose three of six menu set measures with an EHR which enable the improvement of quality healthcare. Several menu set measures from Stage 1 are now core set measures for Stage 2. Thresholds have also changed from Stage 1. Meaningful use Stage 2 focuses on advanced clinical procedures and patient engagement. While the transition from Stage 1 to Stage 2 can appear daunting, preparing early and using best practices can aid in successful attestation.
